This song incorporates a fusion of Latin, African, pop, rock, and in this case, retro music. Calle 13 is a five-time Latin Grammy Award and Grammy Award-winning Puerto Rican hip hop and alternative-reggaeton duo. Many people have labeled Calle 13’s music as reggaeton, but the band tries to incorporate parts of various types of music, including jazz, bossa nova, and salsa.
Electro Moviemiento adds a Spanish flare with its cumbia, tango, and electronica sounds. Singer Residente doesn’t want to label the band’s music in a specific genre, just calling it “urban.” The music video is a bit weird. In the beginning, they show lips with lipstick of different colors. People wear masks that make it seem like they’re 80 years old. They all wear flashy, colorful, and peacock-like costumes with a neon pink background. As weird as it is, it’s still really funny. It reminds me of the days I’d watch cartoons on TV.
